5-Star International Cuisine arrives in Farmville, Virginia
 Farmville, VA – May 6, 2009 – The Manor Resort in Farmville, Virginia announces the Grand Opening of Maxine’s Fine Dining. Located within in the pastoral setting of The Manor Resort, Spa & Residential Estate development, Maxine’s brings exquisite International Fusion Cuisine designed and prepared by award-winning Executive Chef Thomas Abrahamsson.
“We are delighted this day has arrived,” said Executive Chef Thomas Abrahamsson who has prepared a menu that is inspired by his international culinary expertise with weight on French Country and Thai Cuisine. This unique, fresh and organic blend is a hearty fusion of International Cuisine and local flavor.”
A native of Sweden, Chef Abrahamsson’s extensive 29-years of experience has found him in kitchens all over the world including Austria, Australia, Bahrain, Sweden and The West Indies. It has also allowed him to prepare meals not only for the Swedish Royal Family but also for President Clinton, the PGA TOUR and various Hollywood stars.
“I look forward to introducing new flavors and signature dishes along with seasonal specialties that incorporate local ingredients supplied by local producers”, says Abrahamsson. His own Chef’s Garden on the grounds of The Manor Resort will also add to his Gastronomic Philosophy of “ripe with Quality, Flavor and Accessibility”.
Situated within a historic country house at The Manor Resort, guests will experience an ambience of elegance and relaxation. Maxine’s also offers Sunday brunch and is available for special events reservations including weddings, business and social occasions. Maxine’s offers seating for 80+. A special highlight is the deck that runs along the back of the restaurant offering beautiful views of the rolling hills, The Manor Lake and the sweeping countryside.
